Who We Are Today Fast-forward thirty years and Coastal Training is the premier heavy-equipment operator training school in southern British Columbia. We’ve got a client roster that includes major municipalities, government organizations, and notable corporations. Randy is also contracted to write for and offer National Safety Code courses through the British Columbia Trucking Association and he regularly acts as an expert witness for court cases relating to vehicle operations. We’re still a family business, but our little company now employs seven contractors who uphold our high standards of training.
About
Randy Wasstrom, who has an extensive background in vehicle and equipment operations, saw a gap in the local industry. He realized that British Columbia’s Lower Mainland was missing a heavy-equipment operator training school. Randy had worked for the Department of Highways and the Motor Vehicle Branch as well as driving truck in northern BC. He knew driving and safe operations and he believed he could train others.
